MRT first and last train times in Singapore

May 31, 2026 · 5 min read

There is no single first or last train time

It is tempting to look for one number for the whole network, but first and last train times vary by station, by line, and by which direction you are travelling. A train terminating at one end of a line leaves at a different time from the last train going the other way.

As a rough guide, first trains on the main lines start from around 5.15am to 6.15am, and last trains run until close to midnight, with the very latest finishing near 12.40am. The table below shows real times from a few well-known stations so you can see the spread.

These are actual times for specific services. Your exact time can differ if you are heading the other way along the line, so always confirm your own station and direction before relying on a tight connection.

Weekends and public holidays start later

First trains on Sundays and public holidays generally begin about 25 to 30 minutes later than on weekdays. If you are catching an early train on a Sunday, that difference is enough to matter, so plan around the later start rather than the weekday one.

  • First trains from about 5.15am
  • Last trains until close to midnight
  • Sundays and public holidays start later

If you are cutting it fine

The last train is the one that catches people out, because the published time is when it departs a given station, not when the network shuts down around you. If you are close to the last train, the safe move is to head for the platform rather than finish one more thing first.

If you do miss it, our guide on getting home after the last train covers the night bus and ride-hailing options.

Where MrtGo fits

MrtGo keeps your station's real first and last train times in view for the direction you are actually travelling, so the decision to move happens with time to spare rather than after the gates have closed.

Know your last train, not a guess

MrtGo shows the first and last train for your station and direction, and warns you while there is still time to act.
